ABOUT THE HOST

GROVER SILCOX

Grover Silcox, a four-time Emmy Award winner, serves as the host for Lehigh Valley Rising. Silcox has served in various on-air and production capacities with PBS39 since 2006. In that time, he has hosted and produced the arts and culture talk show Counter Culture, the health and wellness program Living in the Lehigh Valley, the things-to-do show Let’s Go and served as reporter-producer for the community news and information programs Focus and Tempo. A Temple graduate, Silcox has produced, narrated and written award-winning documentaries and specials including the NETA (National Educational Telecommunications Assn) award-winning Wyomissing, An American Dream documentary, Bringing New Life to Old Steel, Philly Firsts and the World War II veterans’ program Pennsylvania Patriots. For over 20 years he produced comedy shows for many television networks such as HBO, NBC, CBS and Comcast. Today, he continues to perform as a standup comedian and as a presenter of a one-man show featuring the works of Edgar Allen Poe.
